Brett Bell
Brett Bell was raised in Jefferson City, TN and attended Jefferson County High School. He then earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee with a major in Business Management and a minor in Animal Science.
After graduating from UT, Brett spent the next few years working in the livestock supply industry and then moved into the construction trade. He ultimately partnered with a friend and formed a small construction company based out of Jefferson City.
After being in the workforce several years, Brett returned to school and earned his Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, VA. During law school, he exposed himself to a wide spectrum of the law by working for a solo practitioner in Grundy. Brett also utilized the summer breaks in law school by working as an intern for the Jefferson County Public Defender’s office as well as for the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Additionally, Brett clerked one summer at a private firm in Pikeville, KY where he gained valuable experience in the area of medical malpractice defense and other civil issues.
While in law school, Brett played guitar and banjo in the school “Jug Band” as a way to serve the community. The band performed a monthly show at the local nursing home to entertain the residents.
In practice, Brett focuses on civil litigation, criminal defense, and family law. He also handles cases in the juvenile court system.
Brett is married to April Bell, and they have one daughter. In his free time, Brett enjoys playing his banjo and guitar. He also enjoys farming, riding horses, and team roping at local rodeos.
